Hardwoods Specialty Products is looking for an Operations & Sales Support to focus on integration between sales, warehouse and the smooth running of the day-to-day aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to inside and outside sales staff
  • Operations focused, specifically on inventory “ebb and flow”
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, addressing their requests and resolving any concerns that may arise
  • Accurately enter and organize orders from customers, ensuring all relevant information is captured
  • Obtain quotes and make arrangements for various shipment types
  • Monitor and track both inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate and up to date information
  • Maintain and organize digital shipping records and Proof of Delivery (POD) documents
  • Initiate the invoicing process for customers, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Manage both standard off the shelf items, as well as one off and customized requests
  • Daily transfers from the hub to satellite locations
  • Answer phones as needed
  • Continually advance self-knowledge of products
  • Open to seeking assistance and guidance when needed
  • Be capable and willing to “problem solve” – to chase information down, resolve trouble spots and communicate throughout the team as to problems and potential solutions
  • Uploading POD’s, pick tickets, PO receipts, and remans to cloud
  • Routing of delivery trucks (training will be provided)

Reporting Relationships

This role reports to the Branch Manager

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels of the organization.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task – interruptions are the norm – not an occasional exception
  • Prior experience in a building material related business would be a plus, but any similar experience dealing with a business of “scale” and many moving parts would be helpful.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable with math/numbers – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, units of measure, conversions and spatial analysis
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Positive attitude while under fire – needs to like the sort of fast paced environment that our organization thrives on
  • Driven
  • Adaptable
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Quick learner, especially regarding computer systems

Work Environment

Typical office environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
